KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A woman was sent to the hospital after being stabbed multiple times Tuesday night in North Knoxville.

Brooke Nichols, 30, told officers she was in side a home on Ninth Avenue with several men when three women entered the home and began arguing with her.

Nichols said she tried to leave in her vehicle when one of the women got in the car and started fighting her. A second woman used a knife and stabbed Nichols multiple times.

Nichols was taken to UT Medical Center where she was treated and released.

Before police went to the Ninth Avenue home, neighbors called officials about gunshots and suspicious activity in that area. When police arrived, they found several male and female suspects.

Several of the suspects tried to run away. After a brief pursuit, one male suspect was taken into custody after throwing down a .25 caliber handgun. The suspect, Tonjai Jalon Hardy, 37, also had more than $4,800 cash in his pocket as well as more than eight grams of heroin.

A second suspect was found hiding in the woods by a K-9 officer. Terrance Hardy, 27, received minor injuries from the dog while resisting arrest.

Both suspects refused to cooperate with investigators.

Detectives are now trying to identify and locate the female suspects wanted in the stabbing.
