NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Crews rescued two geese that were stuck to a frozen pond in Centennial Park late Wednesday.

Wildlife officials used a kayak to get to the geese, whose feathers were covered in ice on Lake Watauga, which is adjacent to the Parthenon.

"It would have been disappointing if I couldn't have rescued them with all these cameras out here," Metro Parks Employee Neel Deshpande said.

Brian Miller with Walden's Puddle added, "I got an email about the geese stuck, but I didn't expect this huge crowd here. All of the help is fantastic."

It is unclear how long they were stuck.

The geese will be taken to Walden's Puddle, which cares for injured Tennessee wildlife, to recover.
