CITY — East Tennessee State University's Office of Professional Development has
scheduled a pharmacy technician course to begin Tuesday, Jan. 21, and end
Thursday, March 20.
The class, limited
to 40 students, will train participants to assist pharmacists in handling
medications and serving patients. Those who pass the Pharmacy Technician
Certification Board examination become nationally certified.
instructor is John Franklin Greer, who recently retired from the James H.
Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Greer, an ETSU alumnus, has a military
background and 38 years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
the class is $400 until Jan. 13, when the fee rises to $500. There are 18 class
meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. in ETSU's Rogers-Stout Hall.
