KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A group of parents used the floor of a Knox County school board meeting to propose a new middle school on Wednesday evening.

The group is called "Hardin Valley Supports a Middle School." Members say that the West Knox County community continues to grow and that the school board needs a plan to deal with the influx of students.

The parent group is holding a public meeting on Monday, January 13 at 6 p.m. at Hardin Valley Church of Christ. They say all are welcome that wish to attend.
