Saturday evening forecast: Mild now, but cold returns next week

Temps are mostly mild, but some cold air creeps back in Wednesday. Temps are mostly mild, but some cold air creeps back in Wednesday.

Saturday night: A few clouds around with patchy areas of fog possible. Low: 34°.

Sunday: Early clouds give way to a sun-filled afternoon. High: 52°.

Monday: Clouds return with scattered late day rain showers (60% Coverage). High: 54°.

After a very soggy start, Saturday afternoon turned out pretty nice as promised. We saw a little sunshine and temperatures got close to 60° for some Valley locations.

We will see a few clouds around overnight as some cooler air filters in, which could cause some patchy fog to form. The most likely areas to see fog will be across the Plateau, up into S.E. Kentucky and across the Eastern Valley and Foothills of the Smokies. Keep this in mind if you are traveling overnight Saturday or early Sunday.

Thankfully, any clouds and fog we see will lift quickly, leaving a sun-filled Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will be cooler than Saturday's, but still a little above average.

The clouds return quickly Monday, with another round of rain returning during the late afternoon hours and lingering into early Tuesday.

A shot of colder air rolls in late Tuesday night into Wednesday and a clipper system could bring a few light snow showers/flurries with it as well. The colder-than-average pattern will stick around right into next weekend with limited moisture opportunities.
