KNOXVILLE (WATE) - After a very cold start, we slowly warm to an afternoon high of 42 degrees Thursday.
It's dry today, but a chance for stray snow showers arrives tonight. The very latest weather models are much drier than previous model runs. So, as of right now, this does not look to be a big snow event.
Instead, we are going to see spotty, light snow showers moving through tonight and tomorrow. Isolated areas may get a dusting, but most of us won't see any accumulation. The plateau and mountains may pick up an additional half inch where the snow bands roll over.
Lows tonight are in the upper 20s, and on Friday we are near 40 degrees.
Saturday and Sunday are both sunny but chilly. Highs remain near 40 with lows near 20. Monday, Martin Luther King Day, is sunny with a warmer high of 52.
