KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knox County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested a man linked to at least five home burglaries and possibly five more in West Knox County.

Kevin George Howard, 59, was taken into custody Monday and charged with aggravated burglary and felony theft.

Detectives say he kicked in the glass in back doors of the homes and took jewelry, which he then sold to gold dealers and pawn shops.

Records show he pawned 47 items since November 1, 2013 for over $4,000.

He is currently being held on $27,500 bond.

Debbie Rau, 51, was also arrested and charged with felony theft. She is being held on $2,500 bond.

She is accused of pawning items Howard stole. Deputies say she sold 24 items for $1,200.

Most of the jewelry has been identified by the owners except for a jewelry box containing miscellaneous costume jewelry.

Anyone with information is asked to call the KCSO at 215-2243. The investigation is continuing and more charges are expected.
