Construction crews begin renovation of Strong Hall

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Construction crews began on Thursday renovating Strong Hall at the University of Tennessee.

The building will become a modern science class and laboratory facility.

Officials say the $114 million project marks the first big step in addressing the university's need for general class and laboratory space. The work is expected to take two years.

Strong Hall was built in 1925 and served as a women's residence hall until 2008.
