23 guns stolen from Murfreesboro home

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

Police are investigating after someone stole 23 guns worth more than $20,000 from a home in Murfreesboro.

The theft happened sometime between December 16, 2013 and January 14, 2014.

The homeowner told police he was out of town during that time and noticed the firearms missing when he returned.

In addition to the weapons, jewelry worth an estimated $13,000 and $4,700 in cash were taken from the home, according to the incident report.

Police said there were no obvious signs of forced entry into the home, located on Farmwood Drive in the Blackman community.

The investigation is ongoing.
