KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A woman and three children became trapped inside a restroom Friday evening, after a truck slammed into a Knoxville restaurant.

Knoxville Fire Department officials say the Ford Ranger hit the side of the KFC on Clinton Highway around 7:30 p.m.

Firefighters say the truck's bumper was partially embedded, trapping the grandmother and three children inside the women's restroom.

Crews were able to pry open the bathroom door, allowing the four to escape.

They were all taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

The restaurant closed for the evening due to the damage.
