Blount County deputies find first meth lab of 2014

MARYVILLE (WATE) - Blount County deputies say they found their first meth lab of the year in a church parking lot on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Blount County Sheriff's Office, deputies were responding to the parking lot of Maryville Baptist Tabernacle Church on reports of a purse containing suspicious contents when they found the one-pot lab.

Officials say that investigators were able to neutralize and inventory the ingredients, before disposing of the lab.

Deputies say it appears the meth was cooked recently.

No arrests have been made.
