KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville man faces second degree murder charges after calling 911 saying he had stabbed his friend to death.

Officers responded to an address on Dewey Roberts Street after Michael Freeman, 39, called 911 saying he stabbed his friend on Linden Avenue.

When officers arrived at the Dewey Roberts address, officers located Freeman who had cuts on his hands and was in possession of a knife.

He said he had been involved in an altercation with a friend at another home on Linden Avenue.

When officers arrived there, they found Dwayne Lattimore, 55, lying in the living room deceased. The preliminary investigation indicates Freeman and Lattimore had been involved in an argument that led to the stabbing.

Freeman was arrested and charged with second degree murder. He is being held on $750,000 bond.
