Lady Vols learn from Notre Dame loss

KNOXVILLE (WATE)- The Lady Vols have gained a little perspective following their loss to No. 2 Notre Dame.

Rather than dwell on their second half collapse that allowed the Fighting Irish to run away with a commanding win against Tennessee, The Lady Vols are focusing on the first half- when the Lady Vols looked like a top 5 team.

Tennessee has lost two of their last three games but hope that the Notre Dame night's game was a turning point.

"[The team] took the tape home and watched it and I think they saw the result of how they played the first half and then how we did the second half," said Head Coach Holly Warlick. "I keep saying that as long as we learn from it, we'll be better off for it."

"I think it's just a matter of being smarter with the ball and making the easy pass," said Lady Vol guard, Meighan Simmons. "Against Notre Dame, there were some passes I made that were very difficult passes and some got there and some didn't so it's just a matter of taking care of the ball and being patient on the offensive end."

The Lady Vols play Florida on Thursday at Thompson Boling Arena.
