Friday is coldest day of cold snap

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - After a start to the day around zero, temps only warm into the mid 20s Friday. A light breeze will make it feel more like the teens this afternoon. Clouds thicken up tonight with lows in the teens, but we do finally warm to above freezing on Saturday!

However, even at 36, it's breezy, so it will still feel cold. Also, we have a chance for light snow showers early Saturday morning. It doesn't look like a lot of moisture, but a trace of snow is possible in the valley with a half inch to an inch in the high elevations.

Finally, this pattern breaks on Sunday. Sunshine returns with highs close to average in the mid 40s! It won't last long. A cold blast moves in again for Monday and Tuesday.

TODAY: Partly Cloudy. High: 24

TONIGHT: Clouds Thicken. Low: 18

SATURDAY: A.M. Light Snow. 40%. Breezy. High: 36
