KNOXVILLE/NEWPORT (WATE) - A TBI hotline tip led to the arrest of a man wanted for a deadly armed robbery in Cocke County.

Rico Derell Sterling, 24, and Keith Jamar Thomas, 25, both of Knoxville, are wanted by the TBI and the Cocke County Sheriff's Office for one count of felony murder, one count of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery and one count of attempted aggravated robbery.

Sterling was arrested Friday night around 7:15 p.m. at the River View Park Apartments on River Maple Way in Knoxville. Authorities say he was taken into custody without incident.

Authorities say Sterling and Thomas were involved in a robbery at 335 Leaf Way in Newport on June 1, 2012. A third person, James Michael Brewer, 27, was also present.

The TBI says Brewer went into the home first then came outside. Sterling and Thomas then went in and struggled with two victims inside the home.

William Andrew Mortimer, 27, was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. A second man, Mortimer Josh Baker, 24, was shot in the head and flown to UT Medical Center.

Brewer was arrested Thursday and taken to the Cocke County jail. He was also charged with felony murder, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated robbery.

Thomas remains on the run as of Friday night. He has a last known address of 7326 Beech Leaf Road in Knoxville. He is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 156 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
