One person was shot in the leg on Tennessee State University's campus Tuesday night.
The shooting was reported around 9 p.m. outside of Kean Hall following an intramural basketball game.
Witnesses on the scene told News 2 two people got into an argument over a gambling debt before others joined the altercation and a man opened fire.
The victim, who is not a student at the university, was transported to a nearby hospital.
Police are continuing to search for the gunman who is described as a black male, around five feet, 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt.
Since the shooting, TSU officials have implemented new safety measures including increasing patrol and adding more security in selected residence halls.
Tuesday night's shooting remains under investigation.
