KNOXVILLE (WATE) - It appears
as though most everyone's "Cabin Fever" will break today as we will see mild
temperatures in the mid-upper 50s along with a mix of sun and clouds. Get out and
enjoy it if you can.
Clouds will slowly roll in overnight and temperatures will
remain well above freezing across the region.
A cold front will slide across
the area on Sunday spreading rain showers from west to east through the day.Temperatures will still remain mild though, with most on the upper 40s-lower
Rain showers remain likely overnight Sunday into Monday morning as colder
air starts to filter in. This means portions of the Plateau and S.E. Kentucky
could see a rain to wintry mix to snow transition late Sunday Night into early
There "could" be some travel concerns with this system across those
areas, so we will continue to monitor how this system develops over the nest
At this point, it appears as though the majority of the Valley,
Foothills and even the Mountains will see mainly a rain event, but if the cold
air moves any further southeast, that would of course change the forecast, so
please stay with the WATE 6 Storm Team for further updates over the weekend.
