NASHVILLE, Tenn. -

Wet roads may be to blame for an early morning wreck Monday on Dickerson Pike in Nashville.

According to Metro police, a motorist struck a utility pole at the Dellway Villa Road intersection shortly after 4 a.m.

The driver told police water on the roadway caused his SUV to hydroplane.  The driver was not hurt in the wreck.

The impact cracked the pole at the base and took out power to nearby Dellway Villa Apartments and several neighboring businesses.

Utility crews restored power by temporarily rerouting electricity while the pole was replaced.

One northbound lane of Dickerson Pike remained shut down during the work. It has since reopened.
