CITY – Those looking for something different to do this Valentine's Day need
look no further than the East Tennessee State University Department of
Music. A "Valentine's Day Fundraiser Concert" will allow patrons to make
special memories through song dedications on Friday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in
the Mathes Hall auditorium.
concert featuring ETSU vocal instructor Dr. Sun-Joo Oh and students from her
studio is designed to raise funds to help the students with the cost of
attending workshops and competitions, including the National Association of
Teachers of Singing regional auditions in Nashville and annual conference in
Boston. Individual students also plan to apply for various summer
audience member wishing to help a specific student may purchase a ticket for a
special seat and request a song in advance. The student will sing the
dedicated song on stage during the concert.
cost of a special seat and song request is a minimum donation of $30.
These tickets must be purchased in person at the Department of Music office in
Mathes Hall or by phone at (423) 439-4276 by Friday, Feb. 7.
other tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors and $5 for
students, and are available online at www.etsu.edu/cas/music
or at the door.
