‘Valentine’s Day Fundraiser Concert’ a way to make special memories

JOHNSON CITY – Those looking for something different to do this Valentine's Day need look no further than the East Tennessee State University Department of Music.  A "Valentine's Day Fundraiser Concert" will allow patrons to make special memories through song dedications on Friday, Feb. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mathes Hall auditorium.

This concert featuring ETSU vocal instructor Dr. Sun-Joo Oh and students from her studio is designed to raise funds to help the students with the cost of attending workshops and competitions, including the National Association of Teachers of Singing regional auditions in Nashville and annual conference in Boston.  Individual students also plan to apply for various summer programs.

An audience member wishing to help a specific student may purchase a ticket for a special seat and request a song in advance.  The student will sing the dedicated song on stage during the concert.

The cost of a special seat and song request is a minimum donation of $30.  These tickets must be purchased in person at the Department of Music office in Mathes Hall or by phone at (423) 439-4276 by Friday, Feb. 7.

All other tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors and $5 for students, and are available online at www.etsu.edu/cas/music or at the door.

For more information on the concert, call the number above.  For disability accommodations, call the ETSU Office of Disability Services at (423) 439-8346.
