KNOXVILLE (WATE) - It's been a pretty good week for area restaurants and one of the lowest scoring places of the year has been reinspected.

The lowest inspection grade of the week is a passing score, but there are some critical violations.

Blackhorse Pub & Brewery, 4429 Kingston Pike - Grade: 74

Below 70 is considered unsanitary.

Here is a violation we report over and over again. A bleach, considered a chemical, was found next to catsup, which is a critical violation. Chemicals of any type can't be stored or placed next to food to prevent any accident from happening.

The inspector writes he found food being stored on wooden pallets next to the sewer line.He writes the pallets were being used as shelving. Food is supposed to be put on real shelves to maintain cleanliness.

Meat was being thawed at room temperature, which is around 70 some degrees. However, 41 and below is the proper temperature to thaw food in order to slow the growth of bacteria, which can potentially make people sick.

Reinspection: Lemon Grass, 9117 Executive Park Drive - Grade: 51 82

Last month, Lemon Grass in West Knoxville scored a 51, the lowest grade of the year so far. Lemon Grass has been re-inspected and the new grade is an 82.

  • Nick & J's Cafe, 1526 Lovell Road - Grade: 98
  • Auntie Anne's, West Town Mall - Grade: 97
  • Knox Mason, 131 S. Gay Street - Grade: 95
  • Subway, 3708 Chapman Highway - Grade: 95
