GREENE COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

Tuesday marks day one of a Greeneville police officer's prison sentence to more than three years.

On Monday, Judge Ronnie Greer sentenced Herbert Miller to 39-months in prison on child pornography charges.

Federal court documents show Miller pleaded guilty to possession of child porn back in October.

According to paperwork filed in court, a fellow Greeneville police officer found several inappropriate web searches on a computer in a patrol car. A federal investigation later revealed thousands of pornographic images on that computer's hard drive, including 80 images of children.

Once Miller is released from prison he will remain on supervised probation for ten years and must register as a sex offender.
