Snow pushes into East Tennessee, travel could become dangerous

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Low pressure continues to push moisture into cold air producing snow across the region. Snow will become moderate to heavy at times after dark. 

Roads will quickly become slick, especially where heavy bursts of snow move through. 

Forecast estimates include 2-3" NW Plateau, 3-7" in the valley and 8-12" in the mountains. 

Some of the winter wonderland may melt late Thursday as highs get above freezing with some sunshine.  Some light rain late Friday may end as a light mix as well.
