Two people charged with first-degree murder of Greene County man

GREENE COUNTY, TN (WJHL) -

Two people wanted and later located by Greene County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday night were charged with first-degree murder Thursday for the for a county man Thursday.

According to Greene County Sheriff Steve Burns, Mario “Rio” Donte Keene, 39, and Amanda Kate Harris, 27, were arrested for the murder of Donald Ray Gunter, 69, who was found dead in his Old Mountain Road home Tuesday morning.

Around 10 a.m., Burns, Assistant District Attorney Cecil Mills, TBI Special Agent Chris Wilhoit and Det. Sgt. Mike Fincher met at the sheriff’s department, reviewed the facts in the case and then issued arrest warrants charging Keene and Harris.

Keene and Harris were both taken to the Greene County Detention Center, where they were each being held on $600,000 bond.

They were both scheduled to appear in Greene County Sessions Court on Feb. 14.
