One person was killed and six others injured in a head-on crash late Monday morning in Rutherford County.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. on Old Nashville Highway at Amanda Way, northwest of Murfreesboro.
At least two LifeFlight helicopters responded to the scene.
According to witnesses, the driver of a Celica attempted to pass in the oncoming lane of travel and hit an SUV head-on.
The driver of the car, Roland King, 53, died on the scene.
Six people in the SUV, ranging in age from 18 to 71, were injured.
Alcohol is believed to have played a role in the deadly crash.
Old Nashville Highway was closed for several hours while the Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
The road reopened just after 3 p.m.
