ALCOA (WATE) - An Oak Ridge woman died following a three-car accident on Alcoa Highway Monday morning.

The Alcoa Police Department says the crash happened around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection with Willow Road.

Claire Milner, 20, of Oak Ridge, was traveling on Willow Road, apparently stopped at the stop sign, then tried to cross the southbound lanes of Alcoa Highway to turn left.

She was hit on the driver side door by a 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by Zackary A. Presnell, 33, of Knoxville.

A third vehicle, a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by Paul J. Spicher, 45, of Maryland, was traveling north on Alcoa Highway and struck debris thrown by the Ford Focus.

Milner was taken to UT Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

Presnell was also taken to UT Medical Center and is being treated for his injuries. Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.

Spicher was not injured.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
