MARYVILLE (WATE) - A homeless man is facing charges after being found staying in a Maryville law office.
Officers say they were called out to the office on High Street just before midnight Saturday.
Officials say an employee told officers that she had been in the office earlier in the night and thought that there might be someone else inside.
She also mentioned noticing spilled coffee creamer and smelling cigarette smoke.
Upon investigating, officers found Michael Benjamin, 47, on the third floor, hiding behind a door.
Officers say Benjamin told them that he would enter the building through a basement door by picking a lock, and that he had been staying there for around three months.
Benjamin is charged with criminal trespassing and theft of over $500 and burglary.
He also told officials that he had been using the company's Internet access during his stay.
