Fire damages Sumner County home

BETHPAGE, Tenn. -

A family is displaced after fire damaged their home in rural Sumner County Tuesday.

The home, located in the 1600 block of Butler Mill Hollow Road in Bethpage, about nine miles north of Gallatin, caught fire shortly before Noon.

Emergency management officials told News 2 the roof of the home collapsed.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital with possible heat exhaustion.

The home suffered extensive damage.

The American Red Cross has been called to assist the homeowners.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
