MARYVILLE (WATE) - Maryville High School Football Coach George Quarles got the roast treatment Tuesday.

More than 200 people filled First United Methodist Church of Maryville to watch the ten roasters lay into Quarles.

The event raised around $7,000 for the Community Food Connection.

Organizers say the funds will cover nearly half of the grocery purchases for some 6,500 Blount County people, including 2,000 children.
