NIOTA (WATE) -A McMinn County deputy has ties to a child porn case.

Authorities told our affiliate WTVC-TV that Chief Deputy Matt Blair was texted a sexually suggestive photo on his cell phone from defendant Terry Hayes.

District Attorney Steve Bebb says Blair didn't know the girls were underage at the time. But after getting wind of an investigation involving Hayes, he turned his phone into authorities as evidence.

Hayes later admitted taking 14, 15 and 16-year-old girls back to his home in Niota where he would give them xanax and cocaine.

Blair also happens to be Sheriff Joe Guy's brother-in-law.
