Knox Catholic girl's basketball players taken to hospital after school bus crash in Gatlinburg

GATLINBURG (WATE) - Four Knoxville Catholic High School girl's basketball players were taken to the hospital Friday after a school bus accident in Gatlinburg.

Dispatchers say, around 6 p.m., the bus ran off Glades Road near Ogle Hills Road and landed on its side.

Four students were taken to LeConte Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries according to Knoxville Catholic Athletic Director Jason Surlas.

The team was headed to a game at Gatlinburg-Pittman High School. The game has been postponed until Saturday.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by THP.
