Man flags down police after being carjacked, stabbed


MARYVILLE (WATE) - A man stabbed after he was car-jacked waved down a Maryville Police Officer for help Friday evening.

Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp says a Maryville Police Officer was on Highway 321 near Partnership Pkwy when a man driving a car approached him, honking his horn. 

The victim told the officer he had been stabbed. The victim said the man jumped in his car at a red light at William Blount and Highway 321. The man showed the victim a knife and told him to drive. 

The victim drove to Long Hollow Road near Highway 321, where a scuffle ensued. The victim was stabbed and the assailant left the scene.  

The victim then drove back to Partnership Pkwy, where he flagged down the  officer. He was transported to UT Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

The victim said the man who stabbed him is around 40 years old with long brown hair, a reddish goatee and was wearing a yellow t-shirt. If you have any information, you are urged call 865-273-3700.
