KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Saturday: Lots of sunshine…Picture Perfect! High: 64°.
Tonight: Mostly clear. Low: 36°.
Sunday: Clouds return with a few spotty late day/evening showers possible (30% coverage). High: 66°.
I hope you have an opportunity to get outside today as we will see a brief break from winter's chill. We'll see plenty of sunshine and temperatures nearly 10° ABOVE average for this time of year.
It remains quiet tonight and we will start with sunshine once again on Sunday. A fast moving feature will slowly increase clouds across the region on Sunday leading to a chance of some late day/evening showers (30% coverage), but most of the daylight hours look dry and temperatures will remain mild in the low-mid 60s.
We will be between systems on Monday with closer-to-average temperatures, but we will see a reminder that is still winter by mid-week. A potent cold front is poised to push through late Tuesday into Wednesday, where we will most likely see temperatures fall through the 30s during the day Wednesday.
There is also a "southern stream" feature as well which looks as though it will provide moisture for some of the Deep South. The exact track of this system will be the key factor for us as to how much and what type of precipitation we see on Wednesday, but it is definitely worth watching.
