A Kentucky man died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon just outside of Clarksville.
Authorities reported 48-year-old Bobby Patton of Marion, Ky. was a passenger in a car when it crashed just after 4 p.m. near mile marker 13, not far from Highway 76 in Montgomery County.
Investigators determined the driver of the vehicle attempted to switch lanes but noticed another vehicle was in the way.
The driver then overcorrected, sending the car off the roadway and into a clockwise spin.
The car then traveled back onto the road and overturned multiple times, ultimately killing Patton and injuring the driver.
The driver's condition was not immediately released.
No other cars were involved.
The crash led to major traffic delays and closures on I-24 for over two hours.
