Knox County teacher investigated for nearly decade-old allegation

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Bearden High School teacher is on leave as police investigate allegations from nearly a decade ago involving a student.

The Knoxville Police Department says it is investigating an allegation of inappropriate conduct between the teacher and a student from eight years ago.

A Knox County Schools spokesperson says the teacher was placed on administrative leave with pay on February 7 while the investigation is underway.

Because the teacher has not been charged, 6 News is not releasing the teacher's name.
