BELL BUCKLE, Tenn. -

Two people were killed and another seriously injured in a single vehicle accident near Bell Buckle Monday.

Authorities said Wesley Luthringer's van ran off Dye Road while attempting to negotiate a curve before becoming airborne and striking some trees just after 2 a.m.

Passengers Ronald Nelly Jr., 27, and Donald Lazas III, 25, were both killed.

Luthringer was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for his injuries.

The newspaper reported all three crash victims had been drinking prior to the accident. Nelly and Lazas were not wearing a seat belt.

Speed is also believed to have played a role in the deadly crash.
