KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knox County schools have named its teachers of the year.

Kristin Risdahl, a 4th grader teacher at Brickey-McCloud Elementary School was the elementary school winner.

Merry Anderson, an English teacher at Karns Middle School, took home the middle school honor.

Leslie Howe, a computer science teacher at Farragut High School, was named top teacher in her prospective grade level.

The top three Knox County teachers of the year will now advance to the statewide competition.
