Woman hit by car in South Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A woman was hit by a truck in South Knoxville Thursday night during what police are calling an ongoing family feud.

Officers say the driver of the Dodge truck, Bradley Thompson, 19, was confronted by Sherry Lands, 46, as he attempted to pass in front of her residence on Ogle Avenue near Coffey Street around 7 p.m.

Witnesses say Lands refused to get out of the way and let Thompson pass, and Lands began to hit the truck with a piece of wood and her hands.

As Thompson tried to drive away, Lands was hit by the vehicle and knocked to the ground.

Lands was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

Thompson was interviewed by police and released.

Officers say the incident was part of an ongoing family feud and once the investigation is completed, the file will be sent to the district attorney for review.
