KNOXVILLE (WATE) - It was a big honor Friday for Pat Summitt as the Tennessee Blue Book was dedicated to her, and for the first time ever, it was printed with an orange cover instead of blue.

"It's our Tennessee history book and when you look at Pat Summitt, you think about all the history she's made," said Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett.

State Sen. Becky Duncan Massey made the presentation of a copy to Summitt signed by the governor and every member of the general assembly.

The UT Women's Basketball Coach Emeritus was at the ceremony, but did not address the crowd. Instead we heard from her friend, former boss and board member of the Pat Summitt Foundation Joan Cronan.

"Pat told me the other day, she said, 'Joan, I'm not going to be remembered just for winning basketball games. I'm going to remembered for making a difference in this disease of Alzheimer's,'" Cronan said.

Some people at the ceremony noticed that Summitt had a brace on her foot. 6 News was told she's recovering from surgery.

The Tennessee Blue Book is published every two years. It has information about all elected and appointed officials, as well as election results and a detailed state history.
