KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Leon Houston was sentenced to the maximum of five years Tuesday for threatening his former attorney.

A federal jury convicted Houston in November of using a telephone to threaten an individual.

Prosecutors said Houston threatened the life of his former attorney Jim Logan in a call to another person. Logan successfully defended Houston in a double murder case.

He later foreclosed on a piece of their land over unpaid legal fees.

Leon's brother Rocky Houston faced federal gun charges, but a mistrial was declared in January.

A new trial in that case is scheduled for later this month.
