DANDRIDGE (WATE) - 6 news learned the name of the person killed Thursday morning in a wreck on I-40 in Dandridge.

The crash was reported at mile marker 427 around 10 a.m.

THP said Thursday that 22-year-old Christopher Weaver of Newport was killed around 10 a.m.  Thursday morning when he neglected to slow his vehicle upon entering a construction area.

That's when he struck a tractor trailor driven by Charles Irland, 46, of North Carolina. Westbound traffic was detoured onto exit 432A then back to I-40 West at exit 424.

All lanes reopened around 2 p.m.
