Pal’s super fan visits all 26 restaurant locations in one day

KINGSPORT, TN -
Kingsport native Joshua Baxter moved from the Tri Cities to Seattle, Wash., six years ago. Admittedly there are things he misses about his home area, and – no offense to his family and friends – but Frenchie Fries and Sweet Tea from Pal’s Sudden Service are really close to the top of the list.
Each time he’s back in the Tri-Cities, Baxter is sure to stop by a Pal’s location at least once during his visit. This time, however, he decided to make his trip to Pal’s a bit more memorable … actually, 26 times more memorable. In one day Baxter visited all 26 Pal’s locations, and has the receipts to prove it.
“I had tried to visit all the Pal’s locations once before, but poor planning kept me from doing it,” Baxter says. “This time, though, I took time to map out my trip in order to hit all the locations in one day.”
Baxter started at 7 a.m. Wednesday and headed north to the Virginia locations in Lebanon, Norton and Abingdon. Then he came back by all the Tri-Cities locations, including Elizabethton and Erwin, then drove to the farthest east locations in Morristown and Jefferson City.
The entire trip took more than 13 hours and 400 miles. And at the urging of his wife, it was a charitable trip as well.
“I think she thought it was a little odd, so she suggested making it more meaningful by leaving $5 for the person behind me in line at each restaurant,” Baxter says. “I got a Frenchie Fry at each stop and tea as needed. I only needed three teas.”
Baxter documented each of his stops with a photo of each location and a montage of all his receipts, which he posted on the Pal’s Facebook page.
“Devoted customers like Mr. Baxter are what it’s all about,” says Pal’s President and CEO Thom Crosby. “Our mission statement is to delight our customers in a way that creates loyalty. And this is one of the biggest displays of loyalty I’ve known. That’s really something.” From Pal's
