KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Police converged on a Knox County school bus Friday morning after allegations that a student had made a threat that later turned out to be unfounded.

Police were called to the stopped bus around 7:48 a.m. on Chapman Highway.

Officers removed a male middle school student. The student was detained and the bus continued to South Doyle Middle School.

A school spokesperson says parent notifications were sent to the parents of students on that bus as a precaution.

The spokesperson says discipline will be administered according to school policy.
