KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Grind for 9 will start with a Number One seed.
The Lady Vols will begin play as the top-seed in the Louisville region as the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament gets underway this weekend.
Tennessee will host No. 16 seed Northwestern State on Saturday at 4:00 pm at Thompson-Boling Arena.
The winner will advance to face either No. 8 seed St. John's or No. 9 seed Southern Cal on Monday in Knoxville.
The winner of the Knoxville portion of the bracket will advance to the region semifinals in Louisville.
Other teams in the Louisville bracket include No.2 seed West Virginia, No. 3 seed Louisville, No. 4 seed Maryland, No. 5 seed Texas, No. 6 seed Iowa and No. 7 seed LSU.
The Lady Vols were ousted by Louisville in last year's NCAA Tournament.
Tennessee is chasing it's ninth national title.
The Final Four will be played in Nashville.
