Knoxville man robbed after bragging on Facebook about lottery winnings

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Three suspects broke into a Knoxville man's home Wednesday morning after he bragged about winning money on his Facebook page.

The Knoxville Police Department says it happened around 4 a.m. on the 700 block of Redwine Street.

The victim told police the suspects broke into his house, and he woke up to a huge crash.

He told police one suspect then came into his bedroom with a gun, asking "Where the money at?"

The victim says two other armed suspects then entered the room, all pointing their guns at him and yelling about money.

The victim told KPD he had been bragging about winning money from scratch-off lottery tickets on his Facebook page.

The victim says one of the suspects then hit him on the head with a revolver, while the others grabbed cash from his pants, which were on the floor.

As the suspects searched the home for more money, the victim escaped through the front door and ran to his neighbors to call for help. He was treated at the scene for his injuries.

The suspects are described as black males wearing dark hooded sweat shirts. They each had a revolver.

The victim says one suspect was 5 feet 9 and 210 pounds, another was 6-feet-2 and 200 pounds, and the final suspect was 5-feet-10 and 180 pounds.
