KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Many of the most diehard Tennessee fans are expected to make the trip to Raleigh, N.C. where the Vols will play sixth seeded Massachusetts in the NCAA Tournament on Friday.

It may be 354 miles away, but it's an easy trip down I-40 across the state line.

The total travel time to Raleigh is five hours and 20 minutes.

Those planning to drive will want to fill up the tank in Knoxville where the average price of a gallon of gas is $3.24. The cost gradually goes up across North Carolina to $3.43 in Raleigh.

Flying could save you some time, but it won't save you any money.

According to Expedia, a flight on United Airlines from McGhee Tyson to Raleigh Durham International will cost you from $598 to $628. That's the cheapest.

US Airways comes in second at $823, while American will run you from $823 to $1,023. Delta is the most expensive at about $1,200.

If you plan to stay the night, you'll want to make arrangements before you go. The hotels surrounding the PNC Arena are already all sold out.

The Hampton Inn just up the road is the closest with rooms running $149 to $171.

There are several other hotels just a short drive away with comparable rates, but they are filling up quickly.

If you really want to make your trip worth it there are several free attractions near the arena:
