KNOXVILLE (WATE) - One man is displaced after a fire tore through a mobile home in West Knox County on Saturday morning.

Rural/Metro officials say they responded to the fire on Cox Lane around 3:00 a.m.

Firefighters say the trailer was already fully engulfed in flames by arrival. The homeowner was inside when the fire broke out, but managed to escape safely.

Officials say the house had no power, and that the homeowner told them he was using a kerosene heater to stay warm.

The home has been deemed a total loss. The homeowner told officials he would stay with relatives while he is displaced.

Authorities say the fire does not appear suspicious at this time, but that it is under investigation.
