VONORE (WATE) - The Knox County Sheriff's Office has released video taken from one of its Huey helicopters as crews located the wreckage of a missing plane that crashed in Monroe County.

Officers later rappelled from the Huey and hoisted the pilot's body back to the helicopter away from the scene.

Jim "Fang" Maroney was killed in the crash. He was a retired military pilot an airline pilot and popular air show pilot.

The FAA says the De Havilland DHC-1 aircraft left French Lick, Indiana around noon Sunday and was heading to Franklin County Airport in Canon, Georgia, but never made it. That's when the pilot's family contacted authorities.
