2 sent to hospital following shooting at North Knoxville home

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Two people ended up at Physician's Regional Hospital after a shooting at a North Knoxville home Tuesday night.

At approximately 11:41 p.m., a 17-year-old male arrived at Ft. Sanders Regional suffering from two gunshot wounds to the hand and arm.  
 
Investigators are working to determine if the two incidents are related. 

The Knoxville Police Department says it happened around 10:45 p.m. on the 1700 block of Branner Street.

When officers arrived, the victims had already left for Physician's Regional Hospital in their personal vehicle.

Once at the hospital, KPD found the victims, Charles Carey, 19, and Vera Carey, 44, both of Branner Avenue. Both were treated for non-life threatening gun shot wounds to their arms. Charles Carey has been released from the hospital. 

Police say the suspect is described as a black male, 5'9" and has braided hair. 

The investigation is ongoing.
