MARYVILLE (WATE) - Blount County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 23-year-old Maryville man following a search warrant where deputies found explosives.

Justin Dwayne Meece is charged with two counts of delivery of a schedule two controlled substance (crack cocaine) in a drug free zone, and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

The search also resulted in the recovery of a homemade explosive device which was turned over to the knox county sheriff's bomb squad, who was called to the scene.

The Blount County Sheriff said the nature of Meece's activities involving firearms led investigators to use a SWAT team during the search because the entry was considered high risk.

Four individuals were detained at the time of the search, but Meece was the only one charged. Meece is being held on bonds totaling $20,000 pending a hearing in Blount County court April 2nd.
