Former Greeneville caregiver arrested, charged with assaulting impaired man

Posted: Updated:

The Tennessee Bureau of investigation tells News Channel 11 a Greeneville man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, abuse, neglect and exploitation of an impaired adult after he allegedly assaulted a man in his care.

Seth Soltau, 23, was a support staff caregiver at Sunrise Community Services.

Investigators say on September 3 and 4, 2013, Soltau slapped a 26-year-old man on the back and face several time. Officers found Soltau put his forearm on the victim’s throat and choked him to the point that his airflow was being restricted.

Employees at the Greeneville facility notified administrators of Sunrise Community Services, who in turned contacted Adult Protective Services. The facility has since fired him.

Soltau is being held in the Greene County Correctional Facility on a $30,000 bond.
